New Facebook Job Postings Will They Get it Right - Workology

New Facebook Job Postings Will They Get it Right New Facebook Job Postings New Facebook Job Postings On Monday, Facebook  announced it was testing a feature to create and promote job postings on business Pages. The immediate industry reaction is that it may become a massive competitor to LinkedIn and do a much better job at acquiring the attention of passive seekers.   The preliminary information leaves me with many questions and some concerns. This is a big shift for Facebook are they up to the job? What they  will have to get right from the start: Page Admins:  If this tab is on a corporate Facebook Page, marketing teams will have to see the value and allow HR people to become Page admins to create/ promote the jobs (insert snarky comment here). The Apply:  The applications will come in through Facebook messages. I can just see the marketing teams receiving the message along with customer inquiries and sending a generic message to thank them and then ask them to apply online, making for a disastrous candidate experience. Jobs Tab:  The new job postings will be in a separate tab which will likely reside on a corporate Facebook Page. Job tabs have been notoriously unsuccessful in the past as they require the seeker to navigate to the Facebook Page wall and then click on the tab. Both are unlikely as only 2% of your Fans will ever come to your Page after liking it and Facebook tabs are only .4% of total organic impressions. Viewers see most posts in their newsfeed as defined by Facebook’s newsfeed algorithm, which is why marketers use paid ads to push content to their target audience, instead of relying on their audience navigating to them. Option to Promote Jobs:  Recruitment teams currently have every opportunity to use Facebook’s advanced targeting to promote their employment brand and jobs to their target personas. How will these advertisements be different? Are they just simplifying the process for non-market savvy recruitment teams at a higher cost? Facebook generally gets new endeavors right so I imagine they are consulting heavily with recruitment experts as well as their own SEO/SEM team. Only time will tell if it will indeed take down LinkedIn or fall flat with recruitment teams who have been slow to warm up to using Facebook as hiring platform. More importantly, how does this impact your LinkedIn Company Page and job posting strategy on that platform? As Steve Levy points out, Facebook is looking and acting a whole lot like LinkedIn. Will you be adding more Facebook job advertising and promoted posts into your recruiting budget in the next quarter and in 2017?

Millennials Need a Mindset Change to Be Happy - The Muse

Recent college grads Need a Mindset Change to Be Happy - The Muse Recent college grads Need a Mindset Change to Be Happy Recent college grads are aspiring: They're driven and enthusiastic about looking for some kind of employment that fits both their range of abilities and their character. Along these lines, it's not amazing that vocation is at the up front. As increasingly more urbanites (particularly) postpone marriage and kids for proficient progression, stress increments and the idea of being balanced or, having an actual existence outside of the workplace is lost. The consequence of this work fixation, notwithstanding the way that Millennials are pretty much squeezing themselves, is an absence of happiness. As opposed to being settled in their work and the better for it, this gathering is quite pushed and angsty. An ongoing report by Harvard Business Review chose to look at exactly why Millennials are battling in this eminent manner. At the point when they took a gander at what the gathering esteems, nearly everything was attached to vocation: 'positive collaborations with partners,' 'having a low-stress drive,' 'finding another line of work,' 'being happy with a current activity.' The ones that weren't identified with the expert life included recuperation from profession stress: dozing and unwinding in bed. There's nothing about family, or companions, or otherworldly excursions, or travel openings, or other non-work interests. This current gathering's trying sincerely so they can, what? Stay in bed on ends of the week? Loosen up throughout the day each Sunday until Monday shows up and it's an ideal opportunity to bring a profound plunge into the pressure pool once more? The gathering refered to diminishing stressors as a drawn out objective, so in any event there's that. They're mindful enough to perceive the issue, yet would they say they are taking care of business? Some are taking to the exercise center or the yoga studio, refering to setting aside a few minutes for wellness as likewise significant. As an enthusiastic sprinter myself, I acclaim the consolidation of turning out to be a major part of one's life, yet I must concur with the creator portraying the examination, who says, one can't resist thinking about whether profound life and public activity are not the missing fixings that could make Millennials more joyful. Since stress is such an issue-and once more, one that the age bunch knows is dangerous doubtlessly a basic move in mentality and afterward, thusly, conduct is such's required. Obviously, that is more difficult than one might expect, especially for an age who's been advised to concentrate on vocation now, connections and everything else later. In any case, clearly a change is required. While it's not unexpected to feel a little worry in your life, if your levels are at such a high as to make the main respite a long run in the recreation center or 10 hours of rest on a Saturday night, it's a miserable situation for your present and future self. On the off chance that you end up gesturing along to this, you can begin little by vowing not to browse work email following a specific time of night, by making standing supper dates with companions, and by defining sensible limits with your chief. These minuscule changes to your routine can go far with regards to forestalling feeling so overpowered that you are racing to yoga toward the week's end. Also, when the little stuff turns out to be natural, taking a gander at large picture things can come straightaway: taking standard get-aways and unplugging, pondering what you truly need five, 10, or a long time from now, setting need on non-proficient exercises. No place does it say that turning into a grown-up implies you have to forsake side interests and interests and fellowships and even simply insane, fun evenings on the town. Burnout is genuine, and it's hard, and it makes pushing ahead and ahead amazingly troublesome. Maintaining a strategic distance from it ought to be on your rundown of objectives. It's extraordinary to cherish your activity however, outline as long as you can remember around your profession and you'll most likely think twice about it. On the off chance that you can make little strides today to battle this pressure and decline to put the entirety of your consideration and vitality on your 9-to-5, you'll most likely be an a lot more joyful individual. E-mail Etiquette - Copeland Coaching

E-mail Etiquette I hope you’re managing to stay warm today! In the past week, the temperatures have really gone down considerably. Hopefully, you’re taking advantage of the time inside and are focused on what else â€" your job search! One topic that becomes very important during job searching is your e-mail etiquette. When you miss the boat on your e-mail communications, it’s rare that anyone will tell you directly. But, rest assuredâ€"they noticed and they’re talking about it. Avoid being that person and take the time to consider the recommendations below. They’re very simple, and they will help tremendously. Upgrade your e-mail account. If you’re still stuck in the days of AOL, Comcast, or any older provider, it’s time to upgrade to Gmail or a similar service. If you’ve had your personal e-mail address for over 10 years, this may be you. Your e-mail address can indicate a few things â€" one being your age, and one being your level of sophistication when it comes to technology. Stay up to date to keep from being judged. Select a professional e-mail address. Stay away from e-mail addresses that include your birth year or graduation year. They provide unnecessary information about your age. Stay away from e-mails that contain casual nicknames or hobbies. Pick something that contains your first and last name if possible. Respond within 24 hours. When you receive an e-mail, respond within one day. Even if you don’t have the entire answer, respond to say you’ve received the message. You are your own brand and a product you’re marketing. As such, treat those you interact with as if they were your customers. Start your e-mails with your receipt’s name and end with your name. Job search related e-mails should start with something like “Dear Andrew, Thank you for your e-mail” and not with something like “Hey! Thank you for your e-mail.” If you must send a mass e-mail, use BCC. Blind Carbon Copy is the most professional way to send e-mail to a large group of people. Sending to a group and not hiding their e-mails shows lack of respect for personal privacy. It can also be very annoying when people begin to reply. That leads me to my next tip… If you receive a mass e-mail and must respond, reply directly. Unless it’s very important, don’t send a reply-all message. When you reply-all, everyone on the original e-mail receives a copy of your message. It can also trigger a number of other reply-all messages. You’ve probably had this happen before and can attest to how annoying it can be. Include a signature. At the bottom of your e-mail, you have the option to include a signature. This is a great thing to include! In addition to your name and e-mail, be sure it includes your phone number. So many people use your signature to find your phone number. When it’s not there, the experience can be difficult and they may give up. These suggestions should be an extension of the everyday business etiquette you use. They will ensure you aren’t the subject of a discussion about how, “that person just doesn’t know how to use e-mail properly!” I hope these tips have helped you.
